Ben Potter started playing guitar when he was 13 years old in various rock and metal bands at school. He developed a real flair on the guitar and with a few friends they formed Narcosis, who quickly gained local popularity and a good fanbase and gigged around the Yorkshire and the North of England. He moved to Melbourne where he started working for Adobe and began doing freelance web and digital work on the side using his university start-up name, inspired by his teenage nickname; Stingray Multimedia. While living in Australia Ben became more involved with the Melbourne scene and began buying his own studio recording equipment and set up a home studio, where he experimented and recorded many original new tracks and ideas. Ben returned to the UK in 2016 and began the funk inspired project Sliced bread, among other recording projects. Sliced bread completed 2 EP’s and gained popularity on US digital radio. He also created a music page and began advertising his work on social media, as well as recorded ‘jams’ with friends and improvisational solo videos.Ben also began work session playing guitar and bass guitar for many local bands in the area. With a versatile walking bass style, Ben received a lot of work on the bass, although not a bass player. During this time, he also rekindled an old friendship with Martyn Wharrie, the keys player and front man of his fathers old band, The Rejex. Martyn's musical experience dates back years, with an intuitive, quirky style, with a vocal sound comparable to that of Bowie and Morrissey, combining knowledge and styles, they have created some of the most interesting, experimental yet popular music they have ever made. Ben has travelled the World extensively, and has been to 30 Countries. He has played live in England, Australia, Thailand, Holland and New Zealand in multiple bars and clubs, gaining valuable performing experience. In 2019, Ben and his partner hit the road again and moved to New Zealand where he currently lives now. He has just released his next album ‘Silver and Gold’ with Martyn Wharrie and Ben is now occasionally busking and looking to join a band and get some gigs and in the Country.
