Larrivee P-03E Parlor Guitar

The Larrivee Parlour Guitar is a small-bodied instrument with a scale length of 24”. The overall size of the instrument is on the small side for even a parlour, making this a great guitar for smaller players. Parlours were originally designed for use in more intimate performance scenarios, and this modern variant lends itself well to this type of application. Players looking for a personal or ‘lounge’ guitar which doesn’t skimp on sound quality or playability will also find the P-03 an attractive proposition.

Larrivee prides itself on being plugged in to the entire process of producing a finished, hand-made guitar, from log selection on the forest floor to final quality control in their Oxnard, California workshop. Their aim to build not the most guitars, but the best, is evident on the P-03 Parlour. Hand selection of the woods has ensured that the top, back and sides operate optimally from a tonal perspective; the guitar has a very balanced sound, characteristic of the classic Sitka Spruce and Mahogany tonewood combination. The smaller body means that there is no overwhelming bass response, making it perfect for recording too, as the series name suggests.

The P-03 features ebony headplate, fretboard and bridge, with a bone nut and saddle. Combined, these components maximise the guitar’s resonance transfer from strings to body, as does the company’s signature handfit dovetail neck joint. Multi-strip purfling adorns the top, while the whole body - including the fretboard - is bound in maple. The pickguard is finished in Larrivee’s signature tortoiseshell, while the bridge shape is an elegantly simple rectangular parlour type. Simplicity is also the key with the fretboard - punctuated by white dot fret markers - and headplate - a simple inlaid Larrivee logo with no binding.

Features:

Handcrafted in Canada

Satin finish

Solid Mahogany back and sides (South American)

All solid wood construction

3 piece South American Mahogany Dovetail Neck

Canadian Sitka Spruce Soundboard

African Ebony Fretboard & Bridge

Flamed Canadian Maple Body Binding

Symmetrical X-Bracing

Dovetail Neck Joint

Rounded Headstock

Ping “Mini” Tuners (18:1 Ratio) with Chrome buttons

Tortoise pick-guard

Herringbone Rosette

Ivoroid Fretboard Binding

Silver Microdot Fretboard Inlays

D’addario Medium Gauge Strings

Tusq nut and saddle

Larrivee hard shell case

Element EAS Electronics

Specifications:

Lower Bout: 13.125”

Upper Bout: 9.125”

Waist: 7.875”

Depth: 4”

Scale Length: 24”

Nut Width: 1 & 3/4””

Fretboard Radius: Compound (16” to 21”) Setup for Medium Gauge Strings

Frets: Nickel/Silver

Width: 2.5mm (0.0985”)

Frets: Height: 1.0mm (0.0394”)
